Outdoor Kitchen – Edinburgh

This couple with a young toddler are both avid gardeners and love the outdoor lifestyle. They wanted to create a garden with space to cook, dine and entertain family and friends. Not just in summer, but all year round! The clients now get home from a busy day in the office and throw open the doors to their outdoor kitchen. They roast fish and bake pizzas for family gatherings on their wood fired pizza oven.

The pergola and stylish retractable shade over the dining area keeps off the sun on the bright days. It also gives a little shelter from the odd passing shower.
For a final touch of serenity, the owners enjoy the soothing background trickle of water. A water blade water feature cascades down from the end of the outdoor kitchen counter top. Subtle garden lighting adds to the ambience for entertaining in the evening. Finally, a little clever screening round the pergola and by planting trees and climbers obscures their surrounding neighbours.
