Project Description

Front_Garden_Portobello

First impressions are so important so it is really worth investing in an enticing front garden. The owners of this Portobello home wanted a front garden design that would look good throughout the year. They also wanted a garden that was easy to maintain.

We removed the two small mossy lawns as they were not worth dragging the lawn mower through the house for. We also took down the taller trees, which cast shade over the house and blocked views across the park.

To construct the garden path, we used recycled flagstones that the clients had salvaged while they were renovating the kitchen. A network of gravel paths intersected borders planted with a low maintenance planting scheme. The long flowering perennials and shrubs we planted will look good all year round. Small cherry trees and a hydrangea hedge hide the cars and passers by and fragrant evergreen shrubs hide the bins.
