Category: Sustainable Gardens

To make a sustainable garden, you should consider where landscaping materials are coming from. Ideally it is best to work with materials you already have on site or nearby. By minimising the amount of hard landscaping, this will help you to reduce the carbon footprint of the garden. You should also factor in the longevity of materials that you are using. If your groundcover materials are permeable, this will enable water to soak up when there is high rainfall, rather than contributing to flooding. By using less hard landscaping, you will also have more space for planting and increasing biodiversity in your garden.
