The new owners of this property redesigned their garden to make the most of the awkward shape and create plenty of space for their plants. It is considerably smaller than their old garden, so every inch of space counts. This design creates the illusion that this space is bigger than it actually is.
It is divided into separate ‘rooms’ using larch frames, that will be draped with climbing roses. A swing can be attached to the frame for grandchildren to play. The owners can sit or potter in the different spaces at different times of the day.
We wrapped a contemporary pool with irises and water lilies around the new patio. A zigzag bridge leads across a contemporary pool to a wisteria clad bower, giving the whole family a fun space to explore.
Although the shape had seemed tricky at first, it actually made the final layout more interesting.
